Course Description

Develop a fundamental knowledge of flower arranging and learn the elements and principles of floral design. Familiarize yourself with common and botanical plant and flower names. Learn about floral tools, supplies, the care and handling of flowers and the preparation and planning of floral design. Make your own floral arrangements to take home. Flowers and floral supplies are included in the tuition fee. At registration, students will need to purchase a floral toolkit. There will be an additional restocking fee for the kit when registering in January. 

This class will use the following required textbooks. They can be purchased from the UFV Bookstore:

  • AIFD Guide to Floral Design
  • Principles of Floral Design
  • Program tool kit cost is $152+ taxes at the time of registration
